VSR Financial Services is a growing investment and financial planning firm which was founded on March 1, 1985, by J. Michael Stanfield and Donald J. Beary. The two founders of the firm are seasoned investment professionals with experience dating back to the early 1970s. They direct a management team of investment industry veterans, with an experienced staff committed to response and follow through.

J. Michael Stanfield
Chief Investment Officer, Board Member
Mr. Stanfield entered the financial services industry in December 1972 and spent the next eight years as a registered representative with Merrill Lynch and Dean Witter. He received his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1985, and is past President of the Kansas City Chapter of the FPA. Mr. Stanfield has served on the FPA Broker Dealer Advisory Council and is past Chairman of the National FPA Compliance Advisory Council. He was VSR’s first National Sales Manager, from 1985 to 1991, and was named VSR’s President and Chief Executive Officer in 1991. Mr. Stanfield served as President at VSR until June 2007, and then continued to serve as CEO until July 2009. His new role is as Chief Investment Officer. He received an Economics degree, with honors, from the University of Missouri in 1968 and served four years as an Army officer. |

Donald J. Beary
Executive Vice President, Chairman of the Board
Mr. Beary has over 35 years experience in the investment business and previously served as a branch manager for a regional securities firm. He received his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1982 and has been a General Securities Principal since 1983. He functions as Director of Sales and has overall responsibility for VSR’s direct participation programs. He has over 25 years of experience in due diligence and direct participation program marketing. Mr. Beary received his B.A. in Business Management from Mankato State in Minnesota. He retired from the Marine Corps Reserve in 1987 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
