Jon M. Stanfield Co-President, Corporate Counsel, Board Member Jon Stanfield joined VSR as Corporate Counsel in July of 2005. He was elected to the Board of Directors in June of 2008. Jon was named Co-President of VSR, along with Maureen McAnarney, in June of 2011. Jon served in the U.S. Army as a Judge Advocate for over seven years, with over 42 months of trial experience as a defense counsel and military prosecutor, and nearly four years experience supervising attorneys and paralegals. He served in Germany for over four years and deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. He was awarded the Bronze Star in 2003 for his performance during combat operations and was selected for promotion to Major in 2005. Jon earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 66 licenses.
Maureen C. McAnarney Co-President, Chief Operating Officer, Board Member Maureen McAnarney joined the firm in May of 1992 after graduation from the University of Kansas with a B.A. degree in Business Communications. She has worked in many areas of the firm, including Rep transition and general marketing for the firm, and has served as head of the Registered Investment Adviser and fee-based activities for five years. She was elected to the Board of Directors in December of 2002. In 2005, she was named VSR's Chief Operating Officer. In June of 2011, Maureen was named Co-President of VSR, along with Jon Stanfield. Maureen is FINRA Series 7, 24, 31, 63 and 65 licensed and is an Accredited Asset Management Specialist.
Eileen M. Quint Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Board Member Eileen Quint joined VSR in July of 1998 as commissions coordinator. She was promoted to vice president in August of 2001, and became the Chief Financial Officer later that same year. She supervises all aspects of VSR’s financial affairs including regulatory capital reporting and commission accounting. She was elected to the Board of Directors in June of 2004. She is FINRA Series 7, 24, 27 and 63 licensed. A 1993 graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans, Eileen worked in the loan department of a credit union in Montana before moving to Kansas City in 1998.
Kennard R. George National Sales Manager Ken George came to VSR with over 20 years experience in the financial services industry. He had previously served as both a branch manager of a NYSE member firm and as an owner and operator of several FINRA broker/dealers. Ken joined VSR in September 1995, to create the Texas Region and serve as its manager. He was elected to the VSR Board of Directors in June of 2004. In December 2006, he was elected to the NASD District 6 Committee. In July 2011, Ken was promoted to VSR's National Sales Manager. Ken facilitates training, development, coaching and retention of VSR Reps. He graduated from the University of North Texas in 1975 with a B.B.A. in Marketing. He holds FINRA Series 4, 7, 24, 27, 53, 63, and 65 licenses.
Jeffrey L. McAnarney Senior Vice President, VSR Products Jeff McAnarney has been a member of VSR’s Marketing Department since November of 1998. He is the firm’s mutual fund and annuity manager and product coordinator. He became a Vice President in August 2001 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in April of 2005. Jeff started his career in the investment business with Merrill Lynch in 1993 and spent two years with Equitable. He worked for four years as a consumer products wholesaler before entering the financial services industry. Jeff graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, in 1990 with a B.A. degree in Marketing and Finance. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses.
Chatten W. Scruggs Senior Vice President, Technology Chat Scruggs joined VSR in March of 1998 as Director of Investment Management Services. He has managed the technical back office operations for the firm’s fee-based products and portfolio performance reports. He was promoted to Vice President in August of 2001 and to Senior Vice President in April 2005. In August 2006, he took over the internal Technology department. Chat's prior experience includes two years as a Registered Representative and Financial Planner with a Registered Investment Adviser. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses. He received his B.S. in Financial Management Services from the University of Missouri in 1995.
Steve Roberts Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer Steve Roberts joined VSR in February of 2005 as a Compliance Principal. He was promoted to Senior Compliance Principal in 2009 and in 2010 became VSR's Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President of Compliance. Steve spent nine years with the NASD, now FINRA, as an examiner and also in market regulation. He has also worked in compliance for US Bancorp and A.G. Edwards & Sons. A native of Independence, MO, Steve is a graduate of the Block School of Business at the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a BBA degree in Finance and Economics. He holds the FINRA Series 24 and 66 licenses.
Michael J. Beary Vice President, Marketing Mike Beary works in the Marketing Department with direct participation programs. He became a vice president in 2010. He originally started working for VSR part-time in high school and college in a number of areas of the firm, including the marketing and order processing areas of VSR Advisory Services. In June 2003 Mike began working full time as a marketing specialist for Advisory Services. He graduated in 2003 from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies. Mike holds the FINRA Series 7, 24 and 66 licenses.
Jim Blosser Vice President, Recruiting Jim Blosser joined VSR in 1995, and became the Regional Vice President with Kansas, northern Oklahoma, western Missouri, and Nebraska as his territory in January 2006. In January 2010, he became the Vice President of Recruiting. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Jim is FINRA Series 6, 22, 24, 53, 62 and 63 licensed and holds the professional designation of Chartered Financial Consultant. He also has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas and work towards a Masters degree in Psychology.
Jeff Eisenhauer Vice President, Trade Desk Director Jeff Eisenhauer joined VSR as the Trade Desk Director on Jan. 2, 2008. Prior to joining VSR, he had worked in financial services for 17 years, with extensive experience in brokerage trading. He holds the FINRA Series 4, 7, 24, and 53 licenses. A native of Kansas, Jeff graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of General Studies degree in History.
Jeffrey S. Goodnow Vice President, VSR Advisory Services Jeff Goodnow joined VSR's Marketing Department as Product Coordinator for VSR Advisory Services in March of 2003. In 2010 he became vice president. His duties include marketing Advisory Services fee-based programs, assisting Financial Advisors with their fee-based business, performing due diligence on third-party vendors, and helping new Financial Advisors transition to VSR. Jeff, a native of Topeka, KS, started in the financial services industry in 1993 in banking. He subsequently worked in customer service for Security Benefit Group of Companies in Topeka, and spent five years working in customer service and sales for American Century in Kansas City prior to coming to VSR. Jeff is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in psychology. He also has a background in technology with desktop support and website design. He has the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.
Richard Holt Vice President, Advisory Services Richard Holt joined VSR as Operations Manager in September of 2011 and was promoted to Vice President, Advisory Services in July of 2012. He came to VSR with over 14 years of experience in the financial service industry, primarily in equity research, trading and sales. Richard graduated from the University of Kansas with bachelor degrees in Psychology and Economics, and a MBA in Finance and International Business. Richard holds the FINRA Series 7, 24, 53, 63, 65, 86 and 87 licenses, as well as the life and health insurance license. He has successfully completed Level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
Peter Hughes Chief Investment Officer Peter Hughes joined VSR in February of 2013 as Chief Investment Officer. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), who worked for investment advisory firms in California and Kansas City in research and portfolio management prior to joining VSR. Peter graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in business administration and accounting. He holds the FINRA Series 7, 65 and 99 licenses.
Kevin S. Johannesen Vice President, Technology Kevin Johannesen joined the team in VSR's Trade Room in March of 2000. Along with his trading duties, he assumed responsibility for the technology in the Trade Room and eventually the overall technology for the firm. He started working full time on technology in 2002 and now heads Rep Solutions. In 2010, Kevin became a vice president. Kevin came to VSR with eight years of management and sales experience. He has a B.S. Degree in Business Management from Friends University in Wichita, KS, and is FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licensed.
Cristi Meyers Vice President, Corporate Cristi Meyers joined VSR in March 2008 as Regional Vice President of VSR's North Central Region. Cristi currently facilitates training, development, coaching and retention of VSR Reps. She came to VSR with 22 years experience in financial services. She was a regional vice president for Securities America for six years working in recruiting and Rep relations. She also has extensive operations experience with Securities America, Eisner Securities, and Walnut Street Securities. Cristi has her FINRA 4, 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
Scott T. Stanfield Vice President, Wealth Management Scott Stanfield began working at VSR as a trader on the Trade Desk in March of 2003, where he specialized in institutional trading, block trades, restricted stock and options. He was promoted to Vice President in April of 2005 and now is part of VSR's Wealth Management department. Scott worked as an intern in VSR's Trade Desk area while he was attending college. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Business Communications, he moved to San Francisco in September of 2000 where he worked as a registered sales assistant to a high producing production team in the Private Wealth Management Division of Morgan Stanley. He holds the FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
Susan Vargason Vice President, Operations Susan Vargason joined VSR as Operations Manager of Document Services and Advisory Services in March of 2007. She was promoted to Vice President in October of 2008. Susan runs the New Business/Operations department. Prior to joining VSR, Susan had over 17 years of financial services experience with CUNA Brokerage Services. She worked in the field with Representatives in supporting their sales efforts. She holds the FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 63 and 66 licenses, as well as life and health insurance licenses. She also has her CFS designation.
Karen Freeman Assistant Vice President, Marketing Karen Freeman joined VSR in June of 2000 in the Marketing area. She is VSR's Certified Meeting Professional and was promoted to Assistant Vice President in the Marketing Department in 2010. Karen organizes and puts together all aspects of VSR's conferences and Rep meetings. Prior to joining VSR, Karen owned her own business contracting administrative and meeting planning services. She studied at University of Missouri - Kansas City and Johnson County Community College and earned her certification as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) in January 2004 and was recertified in December 2009.
Rebecca Havens Assistant Vice President, Licensing Rebecca Havens joined VSR in January of 2008 in the Licensing department. She later became the Licensing Manager and then was promoted to an assistant vice president in 2010. Rebecca is a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Agriculture with a focus on Park Management and Recreation, and a minor in Business. She has the FINRA 7, 24 and 66 licenses and also has an insurance license.
Brad Mauderer Assistant Vice President, Advisory Trading Brad Mauderer began his career with VSR as a high school intern in August of 1998, and was hired full-time after graduating from the University of Kansas in 2003 with a degree in Business Administration. He has worked in both the Advisory Services and Trade Desk departments at VSR, and was promoted to assistant vice president in June of 2011. He has his FINRA 7, 24 and 66 licenses.
J. Robert Quint Assistant Vice President, New Business J. Robert Quint joined VSR in March 1998 in Licensing and moved to the Trade Desk that September. In September of 2011, he moved to the New Business Department as Senior New Business Principal and was promoted to Assistant Vice President of the department in July of 2012. Prior to joining VSR, J. Robert worked for Kidder, Peabody, Inc. in the back office. He has a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Central Missouri and has the FINRA 3, 7, 24, 4, 53 and 66 licenses.
Tim Woody Assistant Vice President, Trade Desk Tim Woody joined VSR in December of 2008 on the Trade Desk. He was promoted to Assistant Vice President - Trade Desk in 2010. Prior to VSR, Tim had over 15 years of work experience within the financial services sector. This including work at American Century Brokerage supervising their trade desk and at Fidelity Investments where work included bond research and portfolio reviews with local clients. He has the FINRA 7 and 24 licenses.
