Christopher B. Radford President and CEO Chris Radford joined the firm in June of 2007 as President. Prior to coming to VSR, he had been in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. He was elected to the Board of Directors in June of 2008 and was made CEO in July 2009. Past work experiences included serving as the executive vice president of national sales at AIG Financial Advisers; as senior vice president and director of sales for Washington Mutual Financial Services Groups; and director of sales and training at Main Street Trading Company. Mr. Radford holds the FINRA Series 4, 7, 24, 63 and 66 licenses. He is a graduate of National University in San Diego with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. Maureen C. McAnarney Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Board Member Maureen McAnarney joined the firm in May of 1992 after graduation from the University of Kansas with a B.A. degree in Business Communications. She has worked in many areas of the firm, including Rep transition and general marketing for the firm, and has served as head of the Registered Investment Adviser and fee-based activities for five years. She was named a vice president in August of 2001 and was elected to the Board of Directors in December of 2002. In 2005, she was named VSR's Chief Operating Officer. Mrs. McAnarney is FINRA Series 7, 24, 31, 63 and 65 licensed and is an Accredited Asset Management Specialist.
Eileen M. Quint Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Board Member Eileen Quint joined VSR in July of 1998 as commissions coordinator. She was promoted to vice president in August of 2001, and became the Chief Financial Officer later that same year. She supervises all aspects of VSR’s financial affairs including regulatory capital reporting and commission accounting. She was elected to the Board of Directors in June of 2004. She is FINRA Series 7, 24, 27 and 63 licensed. A 1993 graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans, Mrs. Quint worked in the loan department of a credit union in Montana before moving to Kansas City in 1998.
Jon M. Stanfield Executive Vice President, Corporate Counsel, Board Member Jon Stanfield joined VSR as Corporate Counsel in July of 2005. He was elected to the Board of Directors in June of 2008. Mr. Stanfield served in the U.S. Army as a Judge Advocate for over seven years, with over 42 months of trial experience as a defense counsel and military prosecutor, and nearly four years experience supervising attorneys and paralegals. He served in Germany for over four years and deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. He was awarded the Bronze Star in 2003 for his performance during combat operations and was selected for promotion to Major in 2005. Mr. Stanfield earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 66 licenses.
Kennard R. George Executive Vice President, Business Development, Board Member Ken George came to VSR with over 20 years experience in the financial services industry. He had previously served as both a branch manager of a NYSE member firm and as an owner and operator of several FINRA broker/dealers. Mr. George joined VSR in September 1995, to create the Texas Region and serve as its manager. He was elected to the VSR Board of Directors in June of 2004. In December 2006, he was elected to the NASD District 6 Committee. In January 2010, Mr. George became the head of Business Development at VSR. He graduated from the University of North Texas in 1975 with a B.B.A. in Marketing. He holds FINRA Series 4, 7, 24, 27, 53, 63, and 65 licenses.
Jeffrey L. McAnarney Senior Vice President, VSR Products Jeff McAnarney has been a member of VSR’s Marketing Department since November of 1998. He is the firm’s mutual fund and annuity manager and product coordinator. He became a Vice President in August 2001 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in April of 2005. Mr. McAnarney started his career in the investment business with Merrill Lynch in 1993 and spent two years with Equitable. He worked for four years as a consumer products wholesaler before entering the financial services industry. Mr. McAnarney graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, in 1990 with a B.A. degree in Marketing and Finance. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses.
Stephen A. Russell Senior Vice President, Corporate Steve Russell joined VSR in April 1996, with eight years experience as Executive Vice President and Operations Manager for a general securities broker/dealer. For six years he was VSR’s Chief Financial Officer. His duties currently include marketing, where he is editor of The Flash, the company newsletter and operations. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2001. Mr. Russell has served on the Operations Council of the Financial Services Institute, including one year as chairman. He holds FINRA Series 4, 7, 24 and 28 licenses. Mr. Russell’s prior experience includes five years in retail management and 15 years in newspaper production and management. He is a 1967 graduate of the University of Kansas with a B.S. degree in Journalism.
Chatten W. Scruggs Senior Vice President, Technology Chat Scruggs joined VSR in March of 1998 as Director of Investment Management Services. He has managed the technical back office operations for the firm’s fee-based products and portfolio performance reports. He was promoted to Vice President in August of 2001 and to Senior Vice President in April 2005. In August 2006, he took over the internal Technology department. Mr. Scruggs’ prior experience includes two years as a Registered Representative and Financial Planner with a Registered Investment Adviser. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses. He received his B.S. in Financial Management Services from the University of Missouri in 1995.
Jim Blosser Vice President, Recruiting Jim Blosser joined VSR in 1995, and became the Regional Vice President with Kansas, northern Oklahoma, western Missouri, and Nebraska as his territory in January 2006. In January 2010, he became the Vice President of Recruiting. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Blosser is FINRA Series 6, 22, 24, 53, 62 and 63 licensed and holds the professional designation of Chartered Financial Consultant. He also has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas and work towards a Masters degree in Psychology.
Jeff Eisenhauer Vice President, Trade Desk Director Jeff Eisenhauer joined VSR as the Trade Desk Director on Jan. 2, 2008. Prior to joining VSR, he had worked in financial services for 17 years, with extensive experience in brokerage trading. He holds the FINRA Series 4, 7, 24, and 53 licenses. A native of Kansas, Jeff graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of General Studies degree in History. Patrick E. Egan Vice President Pat Egan started his career in the securities business in 1980 as a broker with Merrill Lynch. He joined VSR in June of 1993 in the trading room. He was promoted to Vice President in 1996. He holds FINRA Series 4, 7, 24, 53 and 63 licenses. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1974 with a B.A degree in Political Science.
Michelle N. Galeski Vice President, Business Development Michelle Galeski joined VSR's Marketing Department as Product Coordinator for Direct Participation Programs in September of 2002. In January 2010, Ms. Galeski became one of the vice presidents of the newly created Business Development department. She came to VSR with over five years experience in financial services, including various positions in banking and in retail money manager and brokerage offices in St. Louis and Kansas City. A native of Chester, in southern Illinois, she is a graduate of Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. She has the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.
Cristi Meyers Vice President, Business Development Cristi Meyers joined VSR in March 2008 as Regional Vice President of VSR's North Central Region. In January 2010, Ms. Meyers became one of the vice presidents of the newly created Business Development department. She came to VSR with 22 years experience in financial services. She was a regional vice president for Securities America for six years working in recruiting and Rep relations. She also has extensive operations experience with Securities America, Eisner Securities, and Walnut Street Securities. Ms. Meyers has her FINRA 4, 7, 24 and 63 licenses. Scott T. Stanfield Vice President, Trading Scott Stanfield began working at VSR as a trader on the Trade Desk in March of 2003. He specializes in institutional trading, block trades, restricted stock and options. He was promoted to Vice President in April of 2005. Mr. Stanfield worked as an intern in VSR's Trade Desk area while he was attending college. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Business Communications, he moved to San Francisco in September of 2000 where he worked as a registered sales assistant to a high producing production team in the Private Wealth Management Division of Morgan Stanley. He holds the FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses. Susan Vargason Vice President, Operations Susan Vargason joined VSR as Operations Manager of Document Services, the Mailroom, and Advisory Services in March of 2007. She was promoted to Vice President in October of 2008. Prior to joining VSR, Ms. Vargason had over 17 years of financial services experience with CUNA Brokerage Services. She holds the FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 63, 65 and 66 licenses, as well as life and health insurance licenses. She also has her CFS designation.
Fred Vetter Chief Compliance Officer Fred Vetter joined VSR as Chief Compliance Officer in August of 2008. Before joining VSR, he had 17 years of experience in the securities industry, the last two with Cambridge Investment Research as assistant vice president of Compliance. He graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and politics. He attended George Washington University where he worked on a Masters of Information Science degree. Mr. Vetter holds the FINRA Series 7, 9, 10, 24, 53 and 66 licenses and ACAMS Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist designation.
Kim Freiermuth Human Resource Director Kim Freiermuth joined VSR as the company's first Human Resource Director in December of 2008. Before joining VSR, she had 13 years of experience in employee relations and personnel development, all in the financial services industry. Kim graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in business communications. She has masters degrees in Management and Human Resources Development from Webster University. Kim also has earned multiple professional certifications.
Michael J. Beary Assistant Vice President, Marketing Mike Beary currently works in the Marketing Department with DPPs. He originally started working for VSR part-time in high school and college in a number of areas of the firm, including the marketing and order processing areas of VSR Advisory Services. In June 2003 he began working full time as a marketing specialist for Advisory Services. He graduated in 2003 from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies. Mr. Beary holds the FINRA Series 7, 24 and 66 licenses.
Kara A. Doebele Assistant Vice President, Trading Kara Doebele joined the General Securities Department as a trader on VSR's Trade Desk in May of 1998. She works in Trade Desk Administration and is Supervisor of the Cashiering and Asset Movement Departments. Ms. Doebele came to VSR from Kansas City, MO, where she worked for United Missouri Bank as Investment Manager Liaison in the Securities Administration Department. Ms. Doebele has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and is FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licensed.
Jeffrey S. Goodnow Assistant Vice President, VSR Advisory Services Jeff Goodnow joined VSR's Marketing Department as Product Coordinator for VSR Advisory Services in March of 2003. His duties include marketing Advisory Services fee-based programs, assisting Reps with their fee-based business, performing due diligence on third-party vendors, marketing Albridge "Wealth Reporting System" (formerly "StatementOne"), and helping new Reps transition to VSR. Mr. Goodnow, a native of Topeka, KS, started in the financial services industry in 1993 in banking. He subsequently worked in customer service for Security Benefit Group of Companies in Topeka, and spent five years working in customer service and sales for American Century in Kansas City prior to coming to VSR. Mr. Goodnow is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in psychology. He also has a background in technology with desktop support and website design. He has the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses. Kevin S. Johannesen Assistant Vice President, Technology Kevin Johannesen joined the team in VSR's Trade Room in March of 2000. Along with his trading duties, he assumed responsibility for the technology in the Trade Room and eventually the overall technology for the firm. He started working full time on technology in 2002 and now heads Rep Solutions. Mr. Johannesen came to VSR with eight years of management and sales experience. He has a B.S. Degree in Business Management from Friends University in Wichita, KS, and is FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licensed.
